2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the NLK Memorial Scholarship. The amount of the scholarship has increased over the years from $2,000 to $6,000 thanks to the generous contributions of Nicole’s family, friends and those who’ve been inspired by her story. Also there have been years when the selection committee has decided to award the NLK to more than one deserving graduate.

 

Run the Race...

 

Each summer, as a group, Nicole's friend's, family and supporters of The NLK participate in the Yankee Homecoming road race in Newburyport. Runners solicit donations to The NLK. The race adds to the scholarship endowment, ensuring that it will become a permanent memorial to Nicole’s life by keeping family and friends connected to her memory and to the community in which she was raised and where she blossomed. We meet on the driveway in front of the High School just before the race to pass out shirts and snap a few pictures. We gather afterwards for a barbeque.
